At 10PM, we continue a new season of Lockup Raw with "Nothing But Time": In prison, time can be an inmate’s worst enemy. Some find constructive…if not unusual ways to fill it. Others depend on humor to pass it. And then there are those who can only hopelessly watch it tick away. Please join us on facebook and twitter. Sunday at 10, "Inside the Mind of Joran van der Sloot" premieres: This 2-hour special features a headline-grabbing interview with the suspicion-shrouded young Dutchman, who's been linked with the death of one young woman, Stephany Flores, and the disappearance of another, Natalee Holloway. Will his words shed any new light on either case? Just who is he? Where was he during the 5 missing years between Natalee and Stephany? Why does trouble seem to follow him everywhere he goes? This program takes a close look at Joran van der Sloot...under the psychological microscope.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 10
10PM: Lockup Raw: It's Complicated: If personal relationships can get complicated on the outside, they can be even more complicated behind bars. And for those unable to cope with them, relationships can lead to a life in prison.
11PM: Lockup: Wabash: Situated in America's heartland, among acres of Indiana cornfields, is the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility, a prison that houses not only the state's most violent offenders, but also a large population of the mentally ill. Of the more than 2,000 men incarcerated here, approximately 700 have been diagnosed with a mental illness. With the permission of medical and prison staff, and inmates as well, MSNBC looks at the challenges of housing not only violent offenders, but those with serious psychiatric needs, as well.
12AM: Lockup Maricopa County: Extended Stay - High Stakes: In one of Maricopa’s primary men’s facilities, the Fourth Avenue Jail, when inmates are not in their small, two-person cells, they can work out in an indoor rec room, or in the common area between their cells. But every afternoon, many of the inmates shift focus from their bodies to their bank accounts. Since inmates are not allowed access to cash, they have another way to pay gambling debts. The losers must purchase snacks or other items from the jail canteen for the winners. They pay for canteen through debit accounts that friends or relatives on the outside deposit money into. But a losing hand can bring serious consequences.
1AM: Lockup Maricopa County: Extended Stay - Identity Crisis: No matter the circumstances that brought them there, Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix, Arizona, will have a profound effect on who the inmates will become. And for some, their time in jail will reveal their true nature.
2AM: Lockup Maricopa County: Extended Stay - Daddy's Girl: It’s a female housing unit with a reputation, one that inmates call "a party" and a "big sorority house" with a twist. But G Dorm at Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix, Arizona is about to turn one new inmate’s life upside down.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11
6PM: Lockup: The Criminal Mind: How should we handle people who have served their time, but clearly remain a danger to themselves and others? In California, there is often a single answer: Atascadero State Hospital. It is sometimes a temporary, but often a permanent home to more than a thousand of the most violent murderers, child molesters and rapists--men who have been forcibly committed for psychiatric treatment. Prison officials agreed to let MSNBC into the facility for a very rare glimpse of what it is like to live and work in what could easily be one of the most dangerous places in the country.
7PM: Lockup Corcoran: Extended Stay - Prison Politics: Violence often seems inevitable in prison. Whether it stems from racial tension, or a dispute between cellmates, it’s the job of Corcoran's officers to prevent attacks. In doing so, however, they put their own lives on the line.
8PM: Lockup: Riverbend: Tennessee's home to its most violent offenders lies just four miles from downtown Nashville. MSNBC takes you behind the walls of Riverbend Maximum Security Prison to meet some of the inmates, including Daryl Holton, who was on death row and had no remorse for killing his four children.
9PM: Lockup Raw: It's Complicated: If personal relationships can get complicated on the outside, they can be even more complicated behind bars. And for those unable to cope with them, relationships can lead to a life in prison.
10PM: Lockup Raw: Nothing But Time [PREMIERE]: In prison, time can be an inmate’s worst enemy. Some find constructive…if not unusual ways to fill it. Others depend on humor to pass it. And then there are those who can only hopelessly watch it tick away.
11PM: Lockup: Return to Rikers Island: MSNBC first visited one of the country’s most notorious jails – Rikers Island - in 1999. Located in New York City, Rikers has a violent history, and overcrowded, deadly facilities. After five years of new get-tough policies, our cameras went back inside to see how this once infamous jail re-invented itself.
12AM: Lockup: Miami - Dade: MSNBC goes inside the country's sixth-largest jail, where every day an average of 7000 inmates await trial or transfer. Running the jail is like keeping a small city going as the staff confronts mental illness, treats sexually-transmitted disease, and battles recidivism with an intensive and rigorous military-type program called “boot camp.”
1AM: Lockup Raw: Nothing But Time
2AM: Lockup: New Mexico: This state penitentiary was the site of one of the bloodiest prison riots in 1980 and our cameras found disturbing physical reminders of the carnage. It’s a prison with a long history of violence that used to be called “gladiator school” by inmates. MSNBC shows you how prison officials work to curb the violence, placing inmates who cannot be managed in the general population into single cells, where all behavior is monitored and every movement is restricted.

12AM: Predator Raw: The Unseen Tapes 7: For the fifth Predator investigation, Dateline headed south, to Fort Myers, Florida. In a beautiful neighborhood, they encountered the strangest parade of suspects they'd ever seen. And it was all captured by a huge array of cameras, including one in a palm tree that could turn 360 degrees and zoom into a license plate at the other end of the street. And for the first time, they were able to videotape each element in the process, from when the suspect showed up at the house, to his arrest, through his appearance in court.
1AM: Predator Raw: The Unseen Tapes 8: In this hour, we take you behind the scenes in rural Georgia, which was unique, not only because of the remote location, but was the first time local and federal law enforcement worked together on a Predator investigation. Nevertheless, there were some challenges the Dateline crew had to overcome, like making sure the potential predators could actually find the house, and training a new decoy onsite when one of the regulars went back to college.
