FRIDAY, MAY 27
10PM: Lockup Raw: Nothing But Time: In prison, time can be an inmate’s worst enemy. Some find constructive…if not unusual ways to fill it. Others depend on humor to pass it. And then there are those who can only hopelessly watch it tick away.
11PM: Lockup Raw: Ain't No Hotel: Arizona's Maricopa County Jail prides itself as, “America’s Toughest Jail.” But we went behind the headlines to find stories that ranged from the unexpected...to horrifying. And at the center of this most unusual jail, is one of America’s most controversial figures…Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
12AM: Lockup Raw: Criminal Minds: Nine of the most violent criminals to ever appear on "Lockup" give chilling accounts of their crimes. They reveal what drove them to take such actions and provide insights into their lives behind bars.
1AM: Lockup Raw: Violence Behind Bars: Violence can break out at any time in prison and "Lockup" cameras have often been there to capture it. We recount these episodes and explore other aspects of inmate violence including riots, shanks, attacks on officers and the methods prison officials use to fight back.
2AM: Lockup Raw: The Daily Grind: Every time the Lockup producers step into another prison, they're amazed by the world they've entered. It’s violent, loud and very intimidating. And yet through it all, it's a fascinating place. But the daily grind of prison life has been known to push some inmates to the brink. While some use the time wisely, other inmates self-destruct.
SATURDAY, MAY 28
6PM: Lockup Raw: Inmates Gone Wild: When Lockup crews go behind prison walls, they know to always expect the unexpected. They’ve seen bloody assaults inmate rage, destruction in the cell block, and bizarre expressions of personal style. Now some of the most memorable and unexpected moments we’ve encountered inside America’s prisons.
7PM: Lockup Raw: America's Toughest Jails: As one prison official puts it: "You’re in a jail. There’s no greater punishment in the world." Even some inmates voice concern about being placed in close proximity to "crack heads, dope fiends, rapists and murderers." Lockup producers have spent time at three of America’s busiest and largest jails: L.A. County, Miami-Dade and New York’s Rikers Island. They've found that these institutions represent a real cross section of life across the country, and each one has its own unique set of challenges.
8PM: Lockup Raw: Hard Time: These are the inmates who may never know freedom again, and feel they have nothing left to lose. For them, incarceration is "a grinding wheel..a rut...a death trap." It leads many of them to snap, because, as one prison officer says, "These are not the good guys."
9PM: Lockup Raw: Friend or Foe?: Inside every prison, there’s one question that both inmates and correctional officers must ask themselves. Knowing the right answer could be the difference between life and death. The question? Who can I trust?
10PM: Lockup Raw: Killers Among Us: One of the most intense things our Lockup field crews encounter when they go inside a maximum security prison is conducting interviews with murderers, often sitting five or six feet away from a very violent offender. But more often than not, they leave those conversations feeling like they just talked to somebody who’s a normal, everyday guy.
11PM: Lockup Raw: Ganging Up: Even prison officials admit that it's a must - when you come to prison, you have to join a gang; you have no choice. It's how inmates say they achieve recognition, power and control in an environment that's designed to prevent that.
12AM: Lockup Raw: Pushing the Limits: In a life full of restrictions, we’ve seen inmates take control of whatever they can, despite the consequences. We’ve seen frustrated inmates reach their breaking point. And in the battle of wills, some will take actions that can never be reversed.
1AM: Lockup Raw: The Revolving Door: Three unforgettable inmates…Each one about to cross the threshold to freedom. We witness their joys…Their fears….Their triumphs….And discover that sometimes the only thing tougher than being in prison, is staying out.
2AM: Lockup Raw: Harsh Reality: For some inmates, a prison sentence means nothing left to lose. So a dispute over missing shoes can turn violent. But sometimes life has other plans, like when the ex-leader of a white supremacist gang faces a whole new reality, and discovers the price for coming clean.
